Backpacking to Perth WA
Cape to Cape of Margaret River Valley
07 Sept <> 18 Sept 2012
Day 01 Fri. (07.09.2012) - Depart KLIA AirAsia D7/236 @ 23.50
Six of us ? Val Allan (Uncle Rudy) and Aunty Pauline Toh, Lim Kee Moon and Betty Ching, Catherine Oon and I, began our travel adventure to Perth by taking the AirAsia D7/236 flight at 11.50pm. We were send off by Betty Ching's sisters and son at the airport.
Day 02 Sat. (08.09.2012) ? Mount Henry Bridge the longest road bridge in WA
We landed in Perth International Airport Terminal early morning at 5.25am. As we walked out of the arrival lounge we were warmly welcomed by Uncle Rudy?s niece and nephew Monica and Dave Seah who then drove us in two cars to their residence (Seah?s Haven) at Polglass Way, Ardross, very near to Canning River and 15km south of Perth.
Seah?s Haven, a beautiful spacious house with 3 large bed-rooms, a future music room, a smaller and large lounge, a sun room with hot water spa, a well-furnished kitchen, banqueting hall with bar and a large open patio for cooking and dinning to go with. Upon arrival at Seah?s Haven, Dave was quick to prepare the typical Australian breakfast for us at the patio ? grilled bacon, eggs, baked beans, coffee and herbal tea.
This morning, Dave drove us around to see the suburb of Ardross and then towards the Canning River and stopped at the Mount Henry Bridge which is the longest road bridge in WA. Here we walked along the 660m cycle paths from Brentwood suburb across the Canning River to Mount Henry Peninsula and back. This bridge carries the Kwinana Freeway and Mandurah railway line.
Stopped by and say hello to Nicole (Dave?s daughter) at her new house. Went to Willetton Oriental Food for the famous ?curry puff? and had lunch at Taurus Hawker Foods at Shop 10/113 Collins Rd. Willetton WA. And it was here, Justin and Jean Marie (Aunty Pauline?s nephew and niece) came to meet us and also Mike (Uncle Rudy's nephew) with a friend.
We went to Spudshed a fresh food market at Jandakot, to buy grocery.
At Seah?s Haven, Dave?s spirit session started by drinking beer at 4.30pm followed by wine. For a very good dinner, Monica and Dave cooked lasagna - beef, onion, mozzarella, ricotta, and cheeses with tomato sauce. Dave invited his friend Nigel and wife Janet for dinner. Janet is from Taiping, Perak, Malaysia.
